Over 2.25 crore UP farmers set to benefit from the 18th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi

Lucknow : In a significant move aimed at supporting the agricultural community, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to release the 18th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme at a special event in Washim, Maharashtra, this Saturday. Under this installment, a substantial amount of Rs 4,985.49 crore will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of 2,25,91,884 farmers across Uttar Pradesh.

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has played a key role in improving the financial situation of farmers by increasing their income and bringing more stability to agriculture. In coordination with the Modi-Yogi government, the farmers of Uttar Pradesh are continuously benefiting from this scheme, which is increasing their income and bringing stability in the agriculture sector.

The Yogi government in Uttar Pradesh has made tremendous progress by promptly implementing the schemes of the Central Government. In a press conference, Uttar Pradesh’s Agriculture Minister, Surya Pratap Shahi, shared that from the start of the scheme in the state up until July 2024, farmers have received a total of Rs 74,492.71 crore across 17 installments. During this time, 2.76 crore farmers have benefited from the scheme at least once.

The 17th installment of this scheme was distributed on June 18, 2024, at an event in Varanasi, where Rs 4,831.10 crore was given to 2,14,55,237 farmers. Additionally, Rs 46.70 crore was paid to farmers whose installments had been delayed due to data issues. Nationwide, 9.51 crore farmers will benefit from the upcoming 18th installment of the scheme, with Rs 20,552 crore being transferred directly to their bank accounts.

Launched in December 2018, the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana aims to increase farmers’ income by providing them Rs 2,000 every four months, totaling Rs 6,000 per year.
