WUSHU CHAMPIONSHIP-2024 BY ARMY COMMENCED IN MANIPUR

Kohima, Nagaland : Indian Army commenced the “Wushu Championship-2024” at Manipur as part of Operation Sadbhavana. The tournament began with a grand opening ceremony at Kha Potshangbam Nachou in the Bishnupur district. The event will be conducted from 26 October to 30 October 2024 to foster sportsmanship and unity among the youth of Manipur, through the ancient martial art of Wushu. The championship brings together talented athletes from across Manipur, offering a platform to showcase their skills and dedication to this dynamic discipline.

The opening ceremony featured a Wushu Sanda demonstration, a cultural performance of Thang Ta dance, and a parade by the participants. Mr Lourenbam Bikram, District Commissioner, Bishnupur and Mr K Ravi Kumar, Superintendent of Police, District Wushu officials and sports enthusiasts gathered to witness the event and support over 200 athletes, set to compete with each other.

Army extends its best wishes to all the participants for the championship, commending the dedication of the participants and the spirit of competition.
