Kohima, Nagaland : The Special National Integration Camp (SNIC) of National Cadet Corps (NCC) has commenced at Wokha in Nagaland from 12 December – 22 December 2024 at an Assam Rifles Camp. The camp is being conducted by 1 Nagaland Battallion NCC under the NCC Group Headquarter Kohima under overall directions of NCC Directorate, North East Region (NER) with an aim to bring together cadets from all over the country, providing them a platform for meaningful interaction and National Integration. The camp has a strength of over 600 cadets and staff representing almost all states of the country.
Hon’ble Governor of Nagaland, Shri La Ganesan was the Chief Guest. He inaugurated the camp in presence of Shri Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor, Government of Nagaland, MLA and Chairman of the District Planning Board, Wokha, Shri Y Mhonbemo Humtsoe were also present as special guests. The Lotha Eloe Hoho Smt Thungbeni Ngullie, Chairman Lotha Hoho Shri Mhondamo Ovung, Shri Achumbemo Kikon MLA & Chairman Sub Divisional Planning and Development Board, Shri Lironthung E Kithan, President Lotha Students Union, Shri Vandan Erui Chairman Wokha District Council Chairman Association. District Commissioner, Wokha Shri Vineet Kumar, IAS and Superintendent of Police, Shri Rhovysie Nyui were also present, spearheading the preparations for successful conduct of the event.
Brig Antony Grossy, Deputy Director General, NCC NER Directorate received the Hon’ble Governor along with Brig SP Mainkar, Group Commander Kohima Group NCC. Cadets presented an impressive Guard of Honour to the Hon’ble Governor, who further formally inaugurated the camp by lighting of the auspicious lamp. While addressing the cadets, Hon’ble Governor exhorted the young cadets to be leaders of Amrit Kaal and take active part in the National drive for self reliance, National Development and Viksit Bharat.
Hon’ble Governor interacted with the cadets and presented a Silver Salver to the conducting unit. The ceremony concluded with a powerful rendition of the NCC song and National Anthem.
