Kohima : The Indian Army organised 2nd YFC Football Tournament from to 17 February to 18 March 2025. 32 teams from diverse backgrounds competed over a period of 30 days. Final match was played on 18 March 2025 in Yambem of Imphal East district of Manipur for the coveted trophy.
The league matches for the tournament were held from 17 to 28 February 2025 followed by the knockout stage from 01 to 10 March 2025. Semi finals of top four teams was held on 12 & 13 March 2025. The tournament culminated with an intense final on 18 March 2025, in which Kgsham Football Academy emerged victorious against Nelson FC winning by a margin of 1 goal. The match was witnessed by over 2,000 spectators from Changamdabi, Yambem, Yaripok, Andro and other neighbouring villages of Imphal East & Thoubal Districts.
The rolling trophy for winner and runner up teams were presented to the finalists. Medals for players of both the finalist teams, best goalkeeper and best player of the tournament was presented to the individuals by the Indian Army. The Golden Boot Trophy was awarded to Mr Langanba of Teloy FC, who was the highest scorer of the tournament followed by felicitation of referees and organising committee of the tournament.
The annual event brought together the the budding talent from numerous villages in Imphal East District and while also fostering unity in the region.
