Kohima, Nagaland : 113 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) RAJPUT, commenced celebrations of Territorial Army Day, Platinum Jublee at Dimapur.
The celebrations commenced on 04 Oct 2024 with a number of programs focused on the community development. Awareness lectures on employment opportunities in the Territorial Army were organised at Pranab Vidyapith and Women’s College, Dimapur. Over 750 students attended these lectures. Blood Donation Camp was organised at the District Hospital, Dimapur wherein 50 soldier of the battalion donated blood for the well being of the community.
In 1949, the Territorial Army Act was implemented by the constituent assembly, post independence and the camp was formally inaugurated by Shri C Rajagopalachari, on 09 October 1949. Since then the day is commemorated as the Territorial Army Day every year.
